Neville A. Prosser - Photographer

Let me introduce myself. I am Neville A. Prosser, and this is my website. For most of my working life, I have been a photographer. This may be as many, if not more than 45 years. But who’s counting?

I am presently the founder and owner of The Haven Gallery on Macleay Island. My gallery features my art pieces and photographs as well as those by other local artists. I also offer photography services and photo processing services to the community.

Photography Experience and Professional Background

During my career in Melbourne, Australia, I worked for the Postmaster General's Dept., the State Electricity Commission, and as a Scientific Photographer for the Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation.

In 1990 I started The Haven Gallery in Williamstown Victoria, Australia and exhibited work from local artists, aboriginal art and my own photography from all around the world.

I have now moved to Macleay Island Queensland.

Early in my career, I studied photography at RMIT and graduated with an Associate Diploma.

Start of The Haven Gallery

Thirty years ago, my artistic skills rose to prominence, and I decided to start my own business. I created Prossper Photographics and The Haven Gallery.

Located in Williamstown, Prossper Photographics looked after the Commercial Photographic clientele.

The Haven Gallery catered for the exhibitions of art from oil painting, water colours, photographs, sculptures, etc.

To this day, The Haven Gallery is home to the works and presences of very important people.

We officially launched the gallery with a selection of aboriginal dot paintings from the Western Desert region of Australia. We were privileged to also feature Joan Kirner the Premier of Victoria to officiate at that event.

Several years later, we moved to Newport, and Steve Bracks, the then, Premier of Victoria. opened the new gallery.

Finding Creative Inspiration

To earn a living, it is necessary to satisfy the needs of my clients, in ways that also satisfy my creative needs. I really enjoy discovering my own subjects to photograph. Although many of these creations are from the local area, I also travel around the world to find subjects that inspire me.

Simplistically, my area of expertise could be said to be landscapes, as that is what you experience while moving around. Really, I see the beauty in the way that nature has shaped objects that make up this world. I am now proud to offer my photographic creations to visitors of The Haven Gallery.
